Coach John Palumbo said he challenged players at halftime to play smarter and it worked.
Game highlights:
- Joe Saia threw to tight end Brad Gee for a 13-yard score in the third quarter.
- Saia hit receiver Josh Garcia for a 38-yard touchdown later in that quarter, then found Garcia again from 30 yards out in the fourth quarter.
- Saia passed for 132 yards, including three touchdowns, and Mendicki and Zac Palumbo had 13 carries.
FHS offense started slow but put up 461 yards of total offense, while the defense was tight all night holding NHS to 31 total yards and three first downs. The Vikings never crossed midfield.
The win moved FHS to 1-2. The Raiders will travel to Uniontown this week.
